At the Local Video Store.... The Long Walk Home --see into the lives of two families (one black, one white) during the 1955-56 bus boycott in Montgomery, Alabama. The film takes a close look at the hardships people endured and the choices they had to make. Stars Whoopi Goldberg and Sisy Spacek. Ruby Bridges --the story of one of the first Black students to desegregate Southern schools in the 60's. Smoke Signals --the first full-length feature film to be written, produced, directed, and acted (in all major roles) entirely by Native Americans. Challenges the cinematic history of Indians. Based on the novel, The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven. |
